Icarus Choreography Project Day 1

Hi DMB's.  Long time, no blog!

I'm creating a resource for you to find all the materials you need to work on your solo choreography project.  We'll be spending some time in class working on these projects, but you never know when inspiration will strike, so I'm setting this up so you can have maximum success.

First, the woman who inspired it all, and the beginning of our story - Ariadne and the Minotaur in Martha Graham's "Errand into the Maze"

We brainstormed a list of words to describe the picture of the Labyrinth.  You came up with:

corners                                  walls                         unknown
end                                        maze                         scared
misleading                            grey                          forever
antagonizing                         intriguing                  mind games
intense                                  unchanging               impossible
devious                                 repetitive                   hopeless
unending                              suffocating                frustration
fear                                       tall                             anxious
dull                                       bleak                         curious
shadows                               square                       dark
lifetime                                sharp                         trapped
lost                                       alone                         mysterious
overwhelming                     distance                     confused

Choose four words to describe what you see in the video.  Be sure you have one word for Action, Dynamic, Space and Relationship.  Connect your word to what you see in the video by DESCRIBING what you see and ANALYZING or INTERPRETING what you described.
