Imagine you are trapped in a very small space.
Reach out to feel the space around you.
What shape is it? What do the walls feel like? How high is the ceiling?
It's dark where you are.
There might be something in there with you.
How can you use different parts of your body to explore the space?
Find a way to get out of your trapped place.
Walk the halls around you.
It is still dark.
Your feet crunch as you walk....what is on the floor?
Maybe it's gravel.
Maybe you're hearing the scurrying of spiders and their bodies being crushed under your feet.
Maybe it's the bones of those who perished before you.
You can hear someone or something behind you.
Hurry.
Stop - are they still there?
Hurry faster.
Stop - which way should you go?
Flee as fast as you can.
Stop - a hand has grabbed you, and you are trapped, frozen with fear.
Experiment with telling a story through movement. Here is the music we used for this improvised experience.
